Introducing the amazing Danelle Barco!
Current Kidz Community role: Danelle has been serving as Check-in Specialist. Which means she is one of the first smiling faces you’ll meet on a Sunday morning as you check your children in.
How long she’s been serving in Kidz Community: She has been serving for over a year now. But that doesn’t mean she’s learned every family’s name yet (although she’s trying).
How she pays the bills: Danelle works for the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, where she’s had tons of experience with youth.
- What is your favorite thing to eat at your favorite restaurant? Well, since I’m a down home, country girl, who also enjoys her meat and taters, I would have to say my favorite meal would be a nice medium-rare prime rib from the Coinjock Marina with au-jus and horseradish. Gotta spice it up a little! 🙂
- If you ever won the lottery, what would be the second thing you’d buy? Winning the lottery would simply be AWESOME! After taking care of bills and needs for my parents and myself, I would start a charitable foundation of some sort to help fund youth programs such as 4-H (my job), YMCA, and church youth programs. Then I would take a trip around the world to photograph this world as I see it.
- Would you rather have a Texas accent and live in New York City or have a New York accent and live in Texas? Why? This is a really hard question…thinking…thinking…thinking…OK, I’ve got it! I would rather have a Texas accent and live in New York City. I like the southern draw I have already, but to make it thicker would be cool. Plus, I would love to be at a New York Yankees game hollering for Derek Jeter and people wanting to know where I came from! Hehehehe! 🙂
Here is what Danelle had to say about serving in Kidz Community:
“There are so many things I love about being a part of the Kidz Community team. I get to volunteer with super-amazing and super-creative people who want to see God’s love grow in all the youth & families that come to New Community Church. I also get to meet and know people that are a part of or just visiting our church by working at the check-in desk. I also get the opportunity to build relationships with children as they grow from infant on up thru the 5th grade. Being a part of the Kidz Community Team has had a definite impact on me. I feel as if I am truly a part of this great church, able to share in God’s word and love, and hopefully spread God’s message on through example.”
When Danelle smiles at you Sunday mornings, be sure to give her a big smile back!
